In the beginning

I'm sitting here, still in shock that my body has decided to give pregnancy a go once again - our third little blessing will be due in February.  In this space I will write my thoughts & feelings, as well as what is happening physically, & with the rest of the family, over the next few months & beyond.

8 days ago I took my first pregnancy test, after a few days of feeling 'off'... and another 2 days later... & another 4 days after that.  As you can see, they're only getting stronger!

It's been a roller coaster of a week, with 3 sets of blood tests & an early ultrasound scan.  So far, all is looking okay - the scan showed a teeny tiny gestational sac, & I am back for a further scan in a fortnight, when we are hoping to see a teeny tiny baby in that sac!

So, a quick summary:

How Far Along?
4 weeks 6 days

Pregnancy Symptoms:
Tiredness, sore sore boobs, nausea

Emotions:
Still very nervous, with little glimmers of excitement!

Tests/Appointments:
Blood HCG at 4 weeks 0 days = 814
Blood HCG at 4 weeks 4 days = 3688
Awaiting results of bloods at 4 weeks 6 days
Ultrasound Scan at 4 weeks 5 days showed a tiny gestational sac (in the right place, hurray - I was sent in because the GP was nervous about an ectopic pregnancy)

The Family:
Hubby Rich is terrified, bless him... And our older girls (Katie 6, Abbie 5) won't know for at least a couple of months yet.  Strangely I think our puppy can sense something is different, she's been unusually gentle around me for the last few days...

And so the journey begins :-)
